Complete renovation, building carports, insulating roofs — HORNBACH is synonymous with real, ambitious projects. Seasoned DIYers thrive on getting their hands dirty, but newcomers often find large-scale projects intimidating. How can an established brand for pros and hardcore DIYers appeal to younger, less experienced audiences?

HORNBACH partnered with designers and artists to launch the Werkstück Edition, featuring unique design objects crafted entirely from HORNBACH materials. Each piece comes with a material list, tools, and instructions, empowering anyone to build it themselves — unlocking creativity, gaining skills, and finding inspiration for future projects.

For Werkstück 004, HORNBACH collaborated with Stockholm’s renowned design duo Front/. The result: the Green Hideaway, a chair that grows greener over time, bringing the tranquility of Swedish forests indoors. The campaign included a TV spot, custom-designed print magazine with instructions, an online documentary, (d)OOH, digital and print ads, social media promotions, and influencer collaborations.
